Scope & Content SUMMERY Albert Thompson Interview: Born 1897 or 1898: Started school March 1902 at 4 ½ years old, walked to school the first 2 days. July 4th picnics and all day dances were important to the community they gave the growing boys a chance to cutup. First trip to town was in the fall of 1901 to Jerome, took all day to get there with horse and wagon. Charlie Rutledge was the first mail carrier in Sedona. William Munds was the first mayor Jerome, and father John Munds, sheriff of Yavapai County. First trip to Flagstaff was 1903 after Clide Habber performed the marriage of my sister and her husband Albert Purtymun. Elijah Lay Family was living at Francis Schnebly's property and they bought it soon after, they were the only people living there. When the wagon broke down, we camped there and fixed the wagon.
